1965 911 Coupe Barn Find
Chassis nr. 302274, August 1965 production Polo Red (6602) 911 was picked up at the Porsche Factory September 8th 1965 by a US Serviceman and brought back to the States. The car was driven a mere 30,000 miles and parked (in 1970!) to fix some minor rust on the front fenders. The project was never completed and the Porsche sat in the same barn untouched until rescued this September. The 911 is completely original throughout and is an excellent candidate for a concours, full restoration. The fenders and front bumper where bolted on for the sale and pictures. The light boxes do have rust however the rest of the car is remarkably solid with just a couple of small areas that will need attention. The interior panels, carpet and seats as well as the dash are beautifull and all usable. The paint in the door jambs is all original and very savable. The original 901/01 engine (nr. 902392) is complete including the Solex carburators and hard to find air cleaners. The car has the original books and Factory delivery paperwork. This is a rare chance to own a true one owner low milage original first series 911. It is a great car to do a "patina restoration" keeping much of the originality especially being able to use the interior and trim, lights etc.
