1967 Porsche 911 Factory Built Trans Am Coupe
Just out of 40 year storage this Factory prepared 1967 911 was purchased and campaigned in Trans Am by Berndt Leckow in 67 and 68. It is shown in the TA book pages 146 and 147. It raced SCCA in 69 and 70 and was then partially disassembled and parked. I have boxed the misc. parts that were removed from the car. The 911 shows just over 17,000 original miles. It was ordered with Rally Kit, Sport Kit, Roll Bar, LSD, Special gears, leather wheel and 100 Liter tank. Aga blue and black. All components are original to the car including the engine and gearbox which is unheard of for a race car, roll bar (still with original paint) and big tank. This car is incredibly documented with two binders of notes, articles and results from the racing seasons, letters from Porsche, copy of the Kardex and even the original window sticker! The car is free of rust and will be a very easy restoration. The compartments are still in the original black paint. There is no undercoating on this car. She still sits on the original set of American Racing wheels and Goodyear Blue Streaks. Most know of the small batch of 1968 Trans Am cars built by the Porsche factory. Five counted so far. This is the only 67 that I have seen with the full list of TA/Sports Purpose options and with the original components and paperwork this is truly a one of a kind. After finding the Don Pike car last Fall I did not think there could be another that was hidden away. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a Factory Built Competition 911. It is eligible for the new Historic TA Class at Monterey and anywhere else for that matter. Now undergoing a sympathatic cosmetic and mechanical freshening and restoration.
