1968 Porsche 911S Rally Car
Delivered new to Belgium as a bare-bones 911S. By the early '70's this S immigrated to Norway bought by rally driver, Einar Sande who modified the S with a 2.8 RS engine and 915 gearbox. The car was used for Autocross, Hill climbs, Rally and Rallycross. The car was modified with Turbo fenders and short hood along the way. In 1988 the car was sold to Rally driver, Helge Menkerud who restored and rebuilt the car. He kept the S until 2019. I acquired the 911 in 2020 and imported it from Norway to the U.S. The old 911 was mechanically well looked after and was very solid and strong throughout. It did not see much use after the 1980's rebuild. I then converted the car back to a proper narrow body. The flares are 911R / Group 3 and are steel. Rear bumper is genuine 911R. The front lid is a perfect copy of a fiberglass and balsa front lid. The rest of the body is steel with very good panel fit and gaps. The 100-liter steel center fill fuel tank protected by a factory skid plate are genuine as are the Recaro seats. The interior is all original with a new headliner and period Prototipo with proper hub and button. There is a factory-style roll bar and rear rally skid plate, Deep six wheels on the front by Weidman, 7" Minilites on the rear all wrapped with new Avon tires. The Marchal rally lights are genuine NOS and the headlights are perfect Bosch H1 units. The S starts easily, operates smoothly and performs well. It is a monster with the 2.8. It makes great sounds with European headers and R type exhaust system. The engine is tight with correct RS parts. The case is blank. Everything on the car works. This old warrior will make a great event car. It is streetable and very drivable. It is fast and fun. Price on request.
