1988 911 Carrera Club Sport
Beautiful Factory Lightweight with an interesting history. Originally ordered by Porsche salesman, Chick Stanton. Chick was one of the original Cannon Ball Run participants having done the run in a red 75 Carrera. Chick was responsible for at least a few Club Sport sales to his customers at Heishman's Porsche in Virginia. Chick was able to convince Porsche to build his personal Club Sport with a sunroof which was not an available option on the CS. Out of the 340 cars it is believed this is the only example built with the sunroof option. Chick owned the car for many years before selling it on. It has had two long term California owners since, covering 44,000+ miles. This example is in all original well cared for condition. Porsche built a total of 340 of these for the world from 1987 to 1989; 28 for the North American market, 2 were Silver and 1 had a sunroof. These cars hold a special place in Porsche's lightweight RS legacy being the only real production lightweight 911 built in the 80s (the exception being the 20 examples of the full race SCRS). They drive very much like a 73 RS Touring and are one of my favorite 911s. Please google for the full Club Sport story.
